Competition among the big players in the low-cost flight segment has always been hot. As a consequence, many of the small independent airlines have not succeeded in getting very far. The same cannot be said for Volotea, one of fastest growing independent European airlines. Its fleet, routes, and services have been growing year after year. It has moved more than 30 million passengers since 3012. Valeria Rebasti, Commercial Country Manager Italy & Southeastern Europe, has been on board right from the start and has over twenty years of experience in the sector. From 1999 to the outbreak of the pandemic, she has always been travelling, at least five days a week, without ever needing a permanent office, guided exclusively by her passion for her job. The current situation obliges air transport to plot anew course and airlines like Volotea may very well have an advantage here. The virtuous combination of business model, organizational solidity, quality of management and speed of action - especially in the short term - will be determining factors in interpreting and responding to new market needs and gaining an edge over the competition.
