John Carlson, PE, has joined Burns and McDonnell as senior project manager in the firm's Houston office. Carlson has more than 30 years' experience in design, operations and maintenance, and consulting for energy facilities. He was previously director of operations for Entergy's district energy businesses in New Orleans and Houston. In his new role, his focus will be energy service projects, including central utility plants, combined heat and power plants, and plant operations. A registered professional engineer in multiple states, Carlson has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He serves on IDEA'S board of directors.
