Citizens Thermal Expands Cooling Capacity

Citizens Thermal of Indianapolis added 6,500 tons of new cooling capacity on its system during 2008, with plans to expand further in 2009. Last year the company added two new 2,000-ton chillers at its West Street Chilled Water Plant and one new 2,500-ton chiller at its Illinois Street Chilled Water Plant, which by June will also be home to another 2,500-ton chiller. The company is expanding to accommodate the ongoing growth of cooling demand throughout the downtown area.
