摘要

I like to read and especially enjoy books that have a fresh perspective on how to view the world. However, I'm also an engineer who wants to see observations backed up by data. That's why I enjoy books from the Freakonomics series and from bestselling authors Chip and Dan Heath. Observations about life with useful conclusions drawn, yet backed by a ton of data. While pursuing my MBA several years ago, I was introduced to an author of another such book, Malcolm Gladwell. His work certainly fits in this general genre, and I have found it to be both entertaining and informative. His first book, which was required reading for business students at the time, is entitled The Tipping Point, which observes how changes to organizations, industries, countries, societies, etc., all seem to occur at a pace so slow it is almost imperceptible. Yet, there is a moment in time when you reach the "tipping point," where change begins to accelerate in an irreversible way.
