The impact of data, and in particular, how that data will spur the future of transportation was clearly on the minds of SMPTE attendees at the 2018 SMPTE conference last month. Richard Merchant, Managing Director in Monitor Deloitte's Strategy practice, and leader of Deloitte's Media & Entertainment opened the conference with an overview of the opportunities M&E companies will one day pursue as private transportation transitions from cars driven by individuals to a future where self-driving vehicles turn drivers into passengers looking to be entertained.
