Insulation contamination of overhead transmission lines by extreme service conditions

摘要

This paper investigates the specifications of suspended linear insulators under extreme contamination conditions: entrainments of agricultural chemical plants combined with alkaline soil dust. The authors outline the performance properties of insulators with alarge extended surface when contaminated by highly adhesive dust. The authors also give recommendations on the test procedure as well as the selection of optimal insulator configuration for extreme service conditions.
