Headquartered in Florida, where it was founded in 2002, MGT has developed close relationships with various landing gear overhaul shops throughout the Americas and Asia. In 2011, it opened a second facility at Aeroport de Toussus le Noble near Paris, from where it supplies customers in Europe and Africa. Olivier Mongenot, CEO, says the two facilities are similar but operate in slightly different ways. In the US, demand is for brand new smaller parts, with sales being carried out worldwide. In Europe, it is the supply and support of life-limited and larger parts, such as actuators and pumps. Another difference is that the US market is more pragmatic, driven by business reasons, while European companies are more conservative, with more emphasis on their own way of working, expecting suppliers to prove themselves as dependable.
