Nowadays, forecasting applications are receiving unprecedent attention thanks totheir capability to improve the decision-making processes by providing useful indications.A large number of forecasting approaches related to different forecasting horizons andto the specific problem that have to be predicted have been proposed in recent scientificliterature, from physical models to data-driven statistic and machine learning approaches.Hybrid approaches combining two or more of the previously-mentioned methods, havebeen also investigated.
