Recovering US oilfield water services sector embraces ESG

The US oil & gas water services sector has bounced back from the market downturn last year as increased commodity prices drive production activity, while E&P companies adopt ESG practices that include ambitious water recycling targets. Although E&P (exploration and production) companies continue to face pressure from shareholders to maintain capital discipline, the recovery in commodity prices has improved their financial position to the point where they can reinitiate some of the drilling and production activity that was scaled back last year.
