PFAS M&A picks up as regulators clamp down

As regulators crack down ever harder on water and soil contamination from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS; see story p15), investors betting on the resulting uptick in demand for detection and treatment technologies have been buying into the sector in droves. This year alone has seen five companies acquired, with one currently on the block (see table, right), while a further two startups (Allonnia and Claros Technologies) have attracted notable amounts of growth capital to help scale up their offerings.
