Sustainability Driven by ICT Adoption within Households, Enterprises, and Government Units

This study is a part research on the contribution of information and communication technologies (ICT) adoption to sustainability within households [1], enterprises [2], and government units [3]. The previous research confirmed that ICT adoption by such stakeholders influences ecological, economic, sociocultural, and political sustainability. This study aims at assessing and comparing the levels of sustainability resulting from ICT adoption within Polish households, enterprises and government units. It employs a quantitative approach. The survey questionnaires were used and data collected from 679 households, 394 enterprises, and 118 government units were analyzed. The research findings revealed that the levels of economic and sociocultural sustainability for the Polish surveyed households, enterprises, and government units were statistically similar and significantly higher than the levels of ecological and political sustainability that were similar to each other. Furthermore, the level of sociocultural sustainability was statistically different for the Polish surveyed households, enterprises, and government units – it was the highest for households and the lowest for government units. Moreover, the levels of ecological, economic, and political sustainability were statistically similar for households and enterprises, and significantly higher than such levels within government units.
