The paper discusses anti-skid device weight reduction due to changes in the shape of the section of its parts. With an increase in the design parameters of the wheels and their weight, the use of dual tires, etc., the functional properties of the engines are improved. However, tires are expensive and quickly wear out. In fact, they shall be replaced several times throughout the service life of a tractor. In terms of weight and cost, they account for about 50% of the spare parts.Currently, the best way out of this situation is to equip the wheels with quick-release anti-skid devices. Their use increases the load on the wheel, and a decrease in the anti-skid device weight optimizes the time spent for installation and removal.The functional parameters of the wheels shall correspond to the characteristics of bearing surfaces, which vary widely. The promptness of wheel adaptation to the physical and mechanical properties of surfaces improves not only the traction qualities but also the performance of the vehicle as a whole. This determines further directions of anti-skid device design development.
