The hosting of large-scale events has a signifi-cant impact on the economy, politics and culture of the country or region, but it also exposes the host city to huge environmental risks. Therefore, in order to ensure the smooth hosting of sports events, it is nec-essary to find a balance between event hosting and the urban ecological environment. This article stud-ies the environmental risks generated by sports events, first introduces the environmental risks gen-erated during the hosting of sports events, then ana-lyzes the relationship between sports events and en-vironmental risks, clarifies the environmental risks faced by cities during the hosting of sports events, and discusses the differences in sports events The specific impact of the phase on the urban environ-ment, and finally measures to avoid environmental risks in the process of hosting sports events.
