Hardware Implementation of Spectrum Sensing Applying Random Sampling in Cognitive Radio Networks

摘要

Cognitive Radio has presented to solve the spectrum rarity problem and to improve its utilization. It is created to accord an opportunistic access for unlicensed users to utilize the available licensed frequency band. Spectrum sensing is a critical issue and an active research area in cognitive radio.It allows the identification of the state of a specific frequency band. The proposed work aims to study the feasibility of implementing random sampling in cognitive radio networks. Considering this issue, this article presents a hardware implementation of two spectrum sensing techniques using an ADSP-BF533 Digital Signal Processor, by applying random sampling. The performances of these methods have been evaluated in term of sensing (detection) and execution time. At last, the experimental results are compared with the results obtained from MATLAB simulator.
