The Air Force and the Navy "will evaluate the possibility" of a joint program to field an advanced tactical trainer as both services review industry responses to recent requests for information. Both services issued RFIs last month seeking input from industry on requirements for a new advanced tactical training aircraft that would support fighter pilot training and have the flexibility to provide aggressor and surrogate aircraft support. In a new question-and-answer document released this week, Air Force Air Combat Command said it will work with the Navy to consider "the most mutually beneficial and efficient way forward," to include the possibility of a joint program.
