摘要

After Congress nearly halved the budget for the Air Force's Advanced Battle Management System last year, Senate appropriators are looking to add another $65 million to the program as service officials work to pivot away from experimentation and focus on capability delivery. The Senate Appropriations defense subcommittee's mark of the fiscal year 2022 spending bill, released today, showed lawmakers want to direct $269 million toward the service's push to enable the Defense Department-wide Joint All Domain Command and Control initiative - above the $204 million the Air Force had asked for in its fiscal year 2022 budget request. The report accompanying the panel's draft bill showed that of the proposed $65 million boost, $15 million would go toward a general program increase, while the remaining $50 million is tied to digital infrastructure. The potential increase would follow a fiscal year in which lawmakers slashed funding for the program in their FY-21 Omnibus Appropriations Act, cutting the $302 million the Air Force requested down to $159 million.
