Aquaporin seeks €200 million share listing

Danish biomimetic membrane specialist Aquaporin is looking to raise DKK250 million (€33.6 million) in an initial public offering on Nasdaq Copenhagen as it aims to become cashflow-positive with revenues of DKK450 million (€60.5 million) in 2024. In 2020 the company made a DKK123 million (€16.5 million) net loss on revenues of DKK5.5 million (€739,000). The IPO would value Aquaporin at around DKK1.5 billion (€202 million). The company was founded back in 2005 by Peter Holme Jensen to develop membranes based on the proteins used in the kidneys and in plants to separate salt from water. It made its first membranes in 2013 and today focuses on three markets: drinking water (reverse osmosis membranes for point-of-use systems), industrial (forward osmosis membranes for brine concentration and brackish water reverse osmosis membranes for process water), and food & beverage (forward osmosis membranes for product concentration). Membranes for medical separations and seawater desalination are in development.
