Gregory Kausner, the Defense Department's executive director for international cooperation, will be the next acting acquisition chief, according to a Pentagon announcement.Kausner, a career member of the senior executive service, is assuming the duties of under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment because Stacy Cummings, the previous acting DOD acquisition chief, is leaving her post at the Pentagon.The White House has yet to name a new nominee for the DOD acquisition chief post following the withdrawal of Defense Innovation Unit Director Michael Brown, who took his name out of the running amid an ongoing inspector general investigation into allegations he misused government contracting authorities and ignored federal hiring regulations while running DIU.The Pentagon today also announced Paul Cramer, the principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for sustainment and installations, will be the new acting deputy under secretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment. Kausner was previously the acting DUSD, a job he had been performing since January 2021.
