The surgery for lung cancer patients with adjacent organ invasio- n(including the invasion of great vessel, left atrium, main bronchus, chest wall, etc.) remains controversial for a challenging surgical design and unclear prognosis. Though the complete resection of tu- mor had been ensured for local advanced(T4) patients, this whole procedure is a strategy with high risk of postoperative complications and mortality. Thermal ablation treatment has been regarded as a potential choice for eliminating lung tumor cells. Cao et al 1 reported a single-center research indicated the effectiveness and safety of us- ing thermal ablation for patients with subpleural lung cancer. Other study had also indicate the efficiency of the ablation for maligant lung tumor patients. 2e4 Here we would like to reported an applica- tion ofburning residualtumortissue by high-frequencyelectricknife instead of the resection of adjacent organ.
