In the published article the surface densities of the stars in the Westerlund 2 (Wd2) region presented in Section 4.1 are incorrect.This was caused by an error in the implementation of the completeness correction to create the 2D surface density maps (Zeidler et al.2017).Instead of using the location-dependent completeness values as shown in Figure 2 of Zeidler et al.(2017), the survey area averaged values (as presented in Figure 1 of Zeidler et al.2017) were used.This led to an underestimation of the stellar surface densities in regions with low completeness, e.g., the centers of the northern clump (NC) and the main cluster (MC), while in regions with a high completeness the stellar surface density was overestimated.
