Comparative Evaluation of Two Different Xeno‐Free Media Supplements in Umbilical Cord Tissue‐Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells In Vitro Culture

In recent years, umbilical cord tissue was found to be a sourceof mesenchymal stem cells with attractive advantages: noninvasivecollection procedure for autologous or allogenic use,lower risk of infection, multipotency, higher growth rate whencultured in vitro, and low immunogenicity with good immunosuppressiveability. The best culture media supplement for theexpansion of these cells is still in discussion; however, the useof human-derived culture media supplements allows for theestablishment of cell cultures that are free of animal components,and so they are suitable for cell therapy
