Analysis of Conductive and Convective Transfersin a Double Salience Switched Reluctance Machineby Analytical Coupling-2D Finite Elements
The work presented in this paper concerns the study of the thermalbehavior due to copper losses and iron losses of a switched reluctance machinewith double salience (SRM6/4) by analytical coupling – 2D finite elements.Calculation by analytical methods of the conduction coefficients in the radial andaxial direction as well as the convection coefficients in the air gap of thismachine are presented. The values of these found coefficients are used to solvethe transient thermal problem for this device using the ADEMEF2D software.The obtained results show a very large increase in temperature at the winding.Heat conduction in both radial and axial directions has a very large effect on thetemperature value in all regions of the SRM6/4.
