The unacceptable tragedy of maternal mortality associated with COVID-19: (re)politicization of women’s health and rights and the position of Brazilian nursing

In 2020, the year designated as “The International Year of the Nurse andthe Midwife”, the Nursing Now strategy(1) further justifies the re-existenceof nursing, with strategies, innovative and transformative actions in facingnew challenges that are imposed, especially, from the context of theCOVID-19 pandemic.
