Accelerating towards a Leprosy Free India through innovative approaches in the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP), India

Summary India is the country with the highest burden of leprosy in the world. In 2015–16 because new case detection remained persistent and the rate of Grade 2 Disability (G2D) in new cases was rising, new initiatives to promote early case detection were developed. The new measures and the indicators being used to monitor progress towards the goal of a leprosy free India are described.
