Japan Search links digital archives in a variety of fields and organizes metadata1 of various content preserved by Japanese institutions and organizations into a searchable national, integrated and cross-sectoral portal website. Aside from providing searchable aggregated metadata, Japan Search provides metadata in a user-friendly format and also plays a vital role as a foundation for promoting content utilization. After the beta version was released in February 2019, we continued to improve functions following feedback, and on August 25, 2020, the official version has become available.
