Apricots production in Malatya,Turkey meets 46% of Turkey production and 9% of the world Apricots production.Malatya is the most important city for apricot production.Apricot is the main source of income for the province,also has many problems from production to market.Pests is one of the major problem of apricot that cause losses in production and quality.Apricot is an important export fruit that is also affected by pesticide residues due to the fight against pests.Based on 2016 and 2017 research conducted in the apricot orchards from Akfadag,Battalgazi,Darende,Hekimhan,Kale,Yazihan and Yejilyurt districts in Malatya,resulted Sphaerolecanium prunastri,Fonscolombe (Hemiptera: Coccidae); Myzus persicae,Sulzer (Hemiptera: Aphididae); Cydia pomonella,Linnaeus (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae); Grapholita molesta,Busck,(Lepidoptera: Tortricidae); Anarsia lineatella,Zeller,(Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae); Scolytus rugulosus,Muller (Coleoptera: Scolytidae); S.amygdali,Guerin (Coleoptera: Scolytidae); Capnodis spp.(Coleoptera: Buprestidae) and Contariniapruniflorum Coutin & Rambier (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) were determined as important pest species in apricot orchards.
