This study determined the overall contents of barium,aluminium,strontium and titanium as well as their distribution in fractions separated according to the BCR procedure in selected natural fertilisers.The following were analysed: bovine manure as well as laying hens’ manure and broiler chickens’ manure from selected farms and individual holdings of Sie-dlecki,Losicki,and Sokolowski Districts in the province of Mazowieckie.The overall metal contents were determined using inductively-coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy,following the previous mineralisation of the materials by the “dry” method in a muffle furnace at 450oC and ash dissolution in a 10% HC1 solution.Sequential fractionation was carried out using an analytical procedure in accordance with the method proposed by the European Community Bureau of Reference (BCR method).The study results were processed statistically using STATISTICA 12P1 software (STATSOFT,TULSA,USA).In order to determine the significance of differences between the average contents of the metals in the tested organic materials and the amounts of their particular fractions,an analysis of variance and Tukey's post-hoc test were conducted.The analysed organic materials varied in the overall contents of the tested metals and in their distribution in the separated fractions.Bovine manure contained the most barium and aluminium,laying hens’ manure contained the most strontium and broiler chickens’ manure contained the most titanium.The least barium,aluminium and titanium were determined in laying hens’ manure and the least strontium was determined in bovine manure.In bovine manure,the most barium and strontium were separated in the exchangeable and easily soluble fractions and the most aluminium and titanium were in the residual fraction.In broiler chickens’ manure,the most barium,aluminium and titanium were separated in the residual fraction and the most strontium was in the reducible fraction.In laying hens’ manure,the most barium was separated in the exchangeable and easily soluble fractions,the most aluminium and strontium were in the residual fraction and the most titanium was in the fraction associated with organic matter and sulphides.In both analysed manures (laying hens’ and broiler chickens’),no titanium was separated in the exchangeable and easily soluble fractions.
