Laser Peened Austenitic Stainless Steel Studied by Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy

The paper presents preliminary results of positron annihilation spectroscopy studies of the subsurface zone created by Laser Shock Peening(LSP) in medical grade AISI 316L stainless steel. The positron lifetimemeasurements and variable energy positron beam were used to analyseLSP samples.
