Waste disposal methods such as incineration and landfills pollute water, air and land. It even poses a great threat to the human body. It is obvious that waste separation is necessary. This paper presents an intelligent garbage bin based on MSP430 chip with voice recognition for garbage classification. According to the user input voice information, it determines the type of garbage, and through the automatic control system, controls the opening and closing of the bin lid of different categories. In terms of hardware, MSP430 chip is used to control the steering gear and LED lights on different garbage cans according to the result of voice recognition.
