Bulk density and hydraulic conductivity are the majorphysical properties in designing the logistic system for biomasshandling. The size, shape, moisture content and surfacecharacteristics are a few factors affecting these physical properties ofsoil. This research investigates the physical properties of soil bysunflower grown in Inceptisols. The research was carried out duringkharif seasons at Oilseeds Research Unit, Dr. Panjabrao DeshmukhKrishi Vidyapeeth, Akola during 2014-2017. The experiment was laidout in Randomized Block Design with seven treatments, replicatedthrice. The different soil amendments which were used are viz. T 1 -RDF, T 2 - RDF + FYM @ 5 ton ha -1 as broadcasting, T 3 - RDF +FYM @ 2.5 ton ha -1 applied in seed furrows, T 4 - RDF + Hydrogel @2.5 kgha -1 in seed furrows, T 5 - RDF + Humic Acid @ 2.5 kgha -1 inseed furrows, T 6 - RDF + Vermicompost @ 2.5 ton ha -1 in seedfurrows and T 7 - RDF + Flyash @ 2.5 ton ha -1 in seed furrows. Theinitial bulk density and hydraulic conductivity at the start of theexperiment were 1.42 mg m -3 and 1.15 cm hr -1 respectively. After thethird year of this experiment under sunflower it was seen thatsignificant highest reduction in bulk density of soil (1.37 Mg m -3 ) wasfound in the treatment which received T 3 - RDF + FYM @ 2.5 ton ha -1in seed furrows as well as significantly highest results were seen inhydraulic conductivity (1.29 cm hr -1 ) under the same treatment. Thus,it can be concluded from the third cycle of experimentation that,application of chemical fertilizers doses and FYM @ 2.5 ton ha -1 inan integrated manner improved the physical properties of Inceptisols.
