In general, the cooling techniques can generate a reduction on the energy consumption, e.g. as consequence of lower forces. This paper presents a study focused on the cryogenic peripheral milling of composites reinforced with carbon fiber, in forces, which are compared with results obtained in conventional milling. Experimental forces were statistically studied. After an analysis of variance, the most influential parameters have been the spindle speed and the feed rate, as main factors, with a greater influence of feed rate (69.07%). The forces in cryogenic peripheral milling are less than in dry machining.
