With great interest we have read the manuscriptwritten by Dr. Edipoglu and Dr. Celik (1), which suggested that patients who undergo arthroplasty surgeries should receive regional anesthesia to avoid postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). However, we havesome concerns about the strength of their conclusionsbased on the questionable statistical methods, less details of clinical features, and absent description for thepain of patients and dosage of analgesic drugs in the 2groups.
