Continuing progress towards goodmanagement practice: 2015 auditsof selected OIE laboratory twinning

Each twinning project links an OIE ReferenceCentre (‘Parent Laboratory’) with a national laboratory(‘Beneficiary Laboratory’) that wants to enhance itstechnical capacity and expertise, to improve its ability toundertake disease prevention, detection and control andto contribute to stronger global health security.Today, OIE twinning projects are delivering expertiseand technical capacity to more than 50 laboratoriesacross all five continents. At the end of March 2016,28 projects had been completed and 35 projects wereunder way, involving a number of terrestrial and aquaticdiseases and animal health topics. Four new OIEReference Laboratories and one new OIE CollaboratingCentre have been recognised by the OIE WorldAssembly of Delegates, after the completion of thesetwinning projects.
