Countries selected for the pilotstrategy will be given preference forthe progressive control/eradication ofPPR, in that approximately 85% ofthe available vaccines will be used inthe target countries, and up to 15%of vaccines may be made available formembers of the Economic Communityof West African States (ECOWAS)and possibly other African countriesfor emergency PPR vaccination. Ifthis 15% is not needed to addressemergency outbreaks, it will bereallocated to the target countries inorder to reinforce their vaccinationcampaigns.
