‘One Health’

Sixty percent of the pathogens that causediseases in humans are of animal origin.These diseases, known as zoonoses, can betransmitted by domestic or wild animals.Animal diseases that aretransmissible to humans,such as avian influenza,rabies, brucellosis and bovinespongiform encephalopathy,present a public health riskworldwide and it is imperative toprevent or combat them at everylevel, including the global one.
