Nematode-trapping fungi constitute a guild of species thatdevelop specialized trapping structures with which theycaptureand digest nematodes. These traps are not con-stitutively present, but instead develop in the presenceof nematodes 3 ; they attract them 2 , adhere to their cuti-cleand eventually pierce it, extending hyphae inside theirbodies.
