The fundamental objective of transportation is toensure that people and goods are safely and effectively movedfrom one place to another. Analyzing the design consistency isone of the ways in which the road’s safety can be maintained orenhanced. In order to obtain a balance in highway design, all thegeometric components should, along with being economicalfunctional, be designed to provide safety at speeds likely to occurunder ordinary conditions. Distinguishing and treating anygeometric inconsistency on an expressway can altogether enhanceits safety outcome.
