摘要

In the title compound, {[Cu(C 2 H 3 O 3 ) 2 (C 10 H 8 N 2 )]·C 2 H 6 O 2 } n , the Cu II cation is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral manner by two N atoms from two different bridging 4,4′-bi-pyridine (4,4′-bipy) ligands and four O atoms from two individual glycolate anions. The 4,4′-bipy ligand bridges adjacent Cu II centres, generating linear chains running parallel to the [1 0] direction. In the crystal structure, adjacent chains are further connected by classical O—H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a two-dimensional supermolecular network structure parallel to (100). The C atom of one of the ethane-1,2-diol solvent mol-ecules is disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.51?(2) and 0.49?(2).
