New ant species of Myrmicaria Saunders, 1842 (Hymenoptera Formicidae) from Senegal, a second species with subpetiolar process in this genus

The description of Myrmicaria morettoi n. sp. (Hymenoptera Formicidae), new ant speciesfrom Senegal is given. This species presents an unusual ring-like subpetiolar process as M.salambo Wheeler, 1922, the only species in the genus Myrmicaria Saunders, 1842 sharingthe armed petiole with the taxon newly described here. A first report of M. salambo fromIvory Coast is also given.
