Thisresearchaimstostudybrain'selectricalsignalsrecordedusingEEGasabasisforthediagnosisofpatientswithAlzheimer'sDisease(AD).ThesubjectsconsistedofpatientswithAD,andnormalsubjectsareusedasthecontrol.Brainsignalsarerecordedfor3minutesinarelaxedconditionandwitheyesclosed.Thedataisprocessedusingpowerspectralanalysis,brainmappingandchaostesttoobservethelevelofcomplexityofEEG'sdata.Theresultsshowashiftinthepowerspectralinthelowfrequencyband(deltaandtheta)inADpatients.Theincreaseofdeltaandthetaoccursinlobusfrontalareaandlobusparietalrespectively.However,thereisadecreaseofalphaactivityinADpatientswhereinthecaseofnormalsubjectswithrelaxedcondition,brainalphawavedominatestheposteriorarea.Thisisconfirmedbytheresultsofbrainmapping.WhiletheresultsofchaosanalysisshowthattheaveragevalueofMMLEislowerinADpatientsthaninnormalsubjects.ThelevelofchaosassociatedwithneuralcomplexityinADpatientswithlowerneuralcomplexityisduetoneuronaldamagecausedbythebetaamyloidplaquesandtauproteininneurons...
