Aviara boats is a newbrand of luxury dayboats from MasterCraft. Its first launch is the Aviara 32. The vessel's look is Euro-inspired, with a straight-edge sheerline, aggressively raked windshield and open layout, ¶ The 32's deep-V hull form has 20 degrees of transom deadrise, and the boat was penned to accommodate sterndrive or outboard propulsion packages. Twin 380 hp or 430 hp Ilmor V-8s, with standard joystick piloting, are the sterndrive choices, while twin 300 hp or 350 hp Mercury Verados are the outboard options, ¶ With outboards, the vessel's length overall increases from 32 feet, 6 inches to 34 feet, 4 inches. Draft is 3 feet with the Ilmors and 2 feet, 10 inches with the Verados, making the 32 skinny-water friendly, ¶ The builder says the Aviara 32 should top out north of 43 knots and cruise around 27 to 28 knots, in either configuration. Best cruising range is around 220 miles, according to Aviara. ¶ In addition to having speed and range, the Aviara 32 is geared to be a weekend party platform. Audiophiles should appreciate the standard Klipsch Audio system with eight speakers, two subwoofers and two digital amplifiers. To ensure that guests' dancing feet never tire, owners can cover the cockpit sole with optional shock-absorbing SeaDek in tan or gray, or with a woven mat. If SeaDek is selected, the same color choice will be used for the swim platform, ¶ When the tunes stop, no one should have to play musical chairs. The cockpit has L-shaped seating to port that can be heated. There is stowage underneath the seating, accessed via gas-assisted scissor hinges. A double-wide, bolster-style helm seat is to starboard. ¶ The transom seating has an interesting design. Facing the swim platform, the backs of the three seats lift to form lounges. Behind them are what look like three backrests, but these "backrests" lift up to form barstools, creating two rows of seating so everyone can watch the kids swim. Need more room? The foredeck lounge accommodates four to six guests and is accessed via a walk-thro ugh windshield to port, ¶ For prepping snacks and sandwiches and carrying drinks, there is a sink, refrigerator, wine chiller and pullout cooler, ¶ The Aviara 32's design may be Euro-influenced, but flourishes such as the heated seats and transom barstools give this modern dayboat a style all its own.
