Quality of Service requirements and Challenges in Generic WSN Infrastructures

Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks WSNs are showing important roles in several aspects of life such as biometry, environments, optics, physics and gas. Each application utilizing WSN for accomplishing its goals sets trust and reliability requirements that a WSN must provide according to its limited resources. A new paradigm for designing trusted and reliable WSNs is to utilize reusable communication protocols to construct generic flexible communication infrastructure. In this paper, we highlight the main QoS requirements and network supports that are determined by several WSN applications. These QoS requirements vary according to the application type and specifications. For this purpose, we consider an innovative and effective generic WSN infrastructure to insure QoS requirements according to the application parameters, and maintaining trust and reliability. Also, we review the most critical challenges that face implementing QoS requirements for general WNS infrastructures.
