Organs and body fluids of dogs and ferrets experimentally infected with the virus of canine distemper contain an antigen that reacts specifically with an antibody present in the serum of immunized and hyperimmunized dogs. The antibody-antigen reaction is demonstrated by the agglutination of heat-killed suspensions of B. prodigiosus that had been in contact with the organ-extracts or the body-fluids of infected animals.
