FOLLOW-UP OF ASTHMA FROM CHILDHOOD TO ADULTHOOD: INFLUENCE OF POTENTIAL CHILDHOOD RISK FACTORS ON THE OUTCOME OF PULMONARY FUNCTION AND BRONCHIAL RESPONSIVENESS IN ADULTHOOD
FEV1 in adults with asthma was significantly predicted only by the childhood level of FEV1. The presence of bronchial responsiveness in adulthood was significantly predicted by the female gender and the degree of bronchial responsiveness in childhood. The degree of bronchial responsiveness in adulthood was only weakly related to the initial degree of responsiveness in childhood.
