ABSTRACT In the introductory part of the article, the issues concerning the relevance of the geothermal energy development in the world and Russia are discussed. It is noted that the Chechen Republic also has the prospects for its development. A brief description of the Khankala geothermal deposit in the Chechen Republic and the history of its development are presented. It is noted that the first geo-circulation loop established at this deposit revealed a number of shortcomings during its opera.
