Development of compact vacuum-tube millime- ter- and THz-band sources with 10-100 W output power would have a great potential for numerous ap- plications such as high-data-rate wireless communica- tions, security, spectroscopy, biomedical applications, etc. Among the vacuum tubes, microfabricated ana- logs of traveling-wave tube (TWT) amplifiers are the most promising. Over 50-W output power in G-band (0.22 THz) has recently been demonstrated [1,2].
