摘要

Background: Prior to the recent Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak, the pediatric age-group remained largely minimally affected or undetected/unreported. Given magnitude of this outbreak there has been a considerable proportion of children infected. This historical perspective may have limited inter-epidemic introduction of pediatric-specific treatment guidelines whereby clinical care was based on consultation of adult guidelines.
