Control of airborne pathogens in hospital and laboratory environments by continuous spraying of an alcohol-free disinfectant: Clinister

Background: Air borne infections or Bio-aerosol infections have become a major health risk in hospitals especially in consultation rooms, operation theatres, dental clinics and laboratories causing allergies and infections which could be even fatal. Disinfectants containing, alcohol and halogens are widely used as surface and hand disinfectants but, disinfectants for controlling air-borne pathogens are not many. Air disinfection using Hydrogen peroxide and fumigation using potassium permanganate are widely used but they can cause irritation to the eyes, nose and some are also potential carcinogens.
