Clinical appearance of diphtheria in children in Saiful Anwar General Hospital, Malang, East Java, Indonesia

摘要

Background: Diphtheria is an acute contagious disease caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae (C. diphtheriae) and the toxin can spread widely directly and hematogenously which may cause severe complications. The early diagnosis is needed for proper treatment, but which clinical symptom may revealed to diphtheria and whether the other diagnostic tool is needed or not is still a question remark especially in the endemic area.
