Brucella epididymo-orchitis relapsing three times despite treatment

Brucellosis is a chronic multi-systemic epizoonotic infection that may involve a variety of tissues and organs. Genitourinary complications are not infrequent (2–10% of patients with brucellosis may be affected) and include epididymo-orchitis, pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, interstitial nephritis, oophoritis, and abortion. The incidence of epididymo-orchitis in brucellosis ranges from 1.6% to 12.7% according to the recent medical literature.1–4 Brucella epididymo-orchitis generally occurs in the sub-acute phase of the infection and usually requires prolonged therapy lasting for at least six weeks.
